Built on a solid fiberglass bottom and cored hull sides, Hatteras has produced one of the toughest boats ever built in the 60' range. She combines good speed, great handling, fantastic seakeeping and a comfort factor that is hard to achieve in a production boat. Great care has been taken to keep this 60 in first class condition.
One of the finest most extensive electronics packages ever. She has all of the normal equipment but then adds Blackbox Radar and Sounders, Cameras. Thru-Hulls are located in a transducer box for safety and performance.
Tough, reliable C30 Cats power this Hatteras. They have proven to give very good service and comfortable cruise speeds around 30 kts. Oil changes have been performed at or before all schedule intervals and all scheduled maintenance has been performed on time or before. The engine room is well lit with both AC and DC fixtures. There are mechanical gauges, blowers, oil change systems and painted surfaces to make the engine room easy to work in.
If one thing can be said about a Hatteras it is that the electrical systems are the envy of the boating community. AC and DC remain separated within the boxes so it is difficult to cross the two. Wires are tin coated copper to provide superior conductivity and resistance to corrosion.
The Salon features a large open space finished in High Gloss Raised Panel Cherry woods, custom fabrics, custom imported granite, and High-end Fabrica carpeting. Custom blinds, Custom TV location, Internal stair, Commercial icemaker and a beautiful inlaid custom table make the space warm and comfortable. The standard layout featured a TV location under and aft of the internal bridge stair, but to provide better viewing the new QLED TV was moved to the area above the dinette. This left an area under the stair for storage and continues to hold the Stereo equipment and DVD recorder.
Located on the forward port area of the salon, the galley offers everything needed to prepare a gourmet meal or a simple sandwich. Beautiful custom counters cover two Subzero units (one freezer, one refrigerator) and provide the support for a 4 burner glass cooktop and designer sink and faucet. The backsplash cover is the same granite and hides a full extension storage drawer. Above the sink and cooktop, raised panel doors cover two full extension drawers and the Sharp Convection Microwave. Under-counter lighting and a continuation of the salon lighting provide abundant light for preparation.
The master stateroom down the curved companionway steps to port and features the very popular athwartship queen berth arrangement. Rapped in high gloss cherry woods and finished in designer fabrics, this stateroom is a true pleasure to enter. A full ensuite head with stall shower, mirrored overhead, Headhunter head, Amtico flooring, imported granite and designer fixtures, give the owner privacy and comfort. Reading lights, bedside lamps and tables, custom headboard and a new QLED TV, give the owner choices of entertainment before retiring. Across for the master stateroom, the over/under berth stateroom provides a place for crew, guest or children. Forward of that room is the full day head with shower. Continuing forward the washer/dryer is to starboard as the companionway makes a turn to port and continues forward to the VIP Stateroom. The VIP features a raised queen berth, new QLED TV, designer fabrics, ensuite head with shower and abundant storage.
The 151 square foot cockpit provides ample room for fishing and houses every convenience to fish with. It received all new teak flooring in 2017! The tackle center is to port with a sink and pull-out fixture. 4 storage doors are under the sink and hidden behind a flush fitting door. The large freezer is beside the tackle center and centerline. Engine room access comes next, followed by the salon door, with storage and a drink cooler in the steps. On the starboard side is the large ben for the ice machine to dump into. Everything is painted white, providing a clean, comfortable place to manage the cockpit. The washdown water is hidden behind doors as are the electrical connections. Cockpit coaming padding runs from the pilasters. The transom fish box gives additional storage when the large in-deck fishbox is full. Transom door, rudder access hatches and a large fighting chair round out the cockpit.
