Vessel Walkthrough

Entering through the center salon door you will instantly be enamored by the rich satin teak. To starboard houses the pop-up TV and two custom barrel chairs. Over to port features the L-Shaped leather sofa with storage below accented by a high-low cocktail table. Moving forward, the galley area offers fantastic counter space, a custom bar area, and ample storage. Features include a 4-burner cooktop and sub zero refrigerator drawers. 

Moving down the companionway, to starboard houses the day head with a full sized shower and guest stateroom with over/under style bunks. To port is the large guest stateroom which includes side by side berths, great storage, and its own full head and shower. Forward to starboard features a large capacity washer and dryer area. All the way forward in the bow area is the master stateroom. Wrapped in lavish hand rubbed satin teak the room exudes a very warm feel. With tremendous storage and a full walkaround queen berth, this is a generous sized master. The room is also accompanied by a beautiful private master head and shower.

Deck and Hull

The 61's hull bottom laminate is comprised of two layers of 1 1/4" core-cell foam, stitched multidirectional blend of kevlar and fiberglass reinforcement and vinylester resin.  Fiberglass stringers are supported by cored web frames and six cored structural bulkheads bonded to the hull and the super structure. Carbon fiber is used locally in areas where its tensile strength is an advantage. The superstructure and decks also are built with core-cell. Garlington vacuum bags all core materials to ensure proper bonding and all exterior surfaces have an imron finish.

Performance

The Reel Lax is equipped with twin MTU 12V2000s. With a two-thirds load of fuel, an impressive tower crafted by Jack Hopewell and her owners gear aboard top speeds can reach 41.1 knots. When pulled back to 2100 rpm, she charges along at 37.8 knots. At 32 knots (1800 rpm) the fuel burn is noted at 90 gph.
